About Me

Thank you for checking out DefTechPR. This is my place to write about whatever tickles my fancy. Most often it's about the changing landscape of PR, but also includes raving, ranting and an exploration of my own thoughts and experiences working with technology and defence companies.

I'm most passionate about helping companies at ground zero. Or at a time where building the foundation for a communications program is needed. Most recently I've worked with start-ups like healthcare platform LEAGUE, global eReading giant Kobo, and online accounting company Freshbooks  to design and set the foundation for their communications programs including: messaging development, media and blogger relations, creating a digital presence, managing/developing editorial content, social media planning, agency and partner selection, building teams, community building, crisis and issues management, positioning, online and print ad campaigns, and more. I've also been incredibly lucky to work with 3D visualization company NGRAIN, and PR agency High Road Communications.

This blog is a place for me to write about the things that I love. Most often you'll be thinking “Nerd Alert!”  Expect a good read, random scientific facts, and my views on public relations.
This site reflects my own opinions and not necessarily those of the companies I work for. In fact when this blog was started, it was all about PR in military all the time. Now that I have worked for a variety of tech companies across the B2B and B2C spectrum, I tend to write about whatever is driving me nuts. I hope however, that it remains a valuable if not somewhat funny read about all things PR.
If you are know someone you think I should meet, or are interested in working together, let me know. Whether you need help picking a PR agency, creating your communications program, writing a press release, or finding the right person to add to your team, I'd love to help.  Email me at cerys@deftechpr.com  or find me on Twitter @G00dsie or LinkedIn.
